"History of Northern Wisconsin, 1881" Fairchild (-as transcribed from page 344) This is a thriving little lumber village in the town of the same name. It has several mills, which get their lumber supply very near. Fostercook & Co. and Pedrick & Co. are the leading firms. It has a Post-office. January 11, 1881, the mill of Fostercook & Co. was destroyed by fire, but it was at once rebuilt.
